Inspired by the opera ‘Barber of Seville’, began with a snake as a mustache representing the lying, deceptive qualities symbolically associated with snakes. The razor blade over the eyes also indicates lies, as a liar will never look you directly in the eye.

Painted for the Glyndebourne art competition, sadly was not selected.
